Late Monday night. Lynn Kidd, a four star prospect out of IMG Academy, has committed to play basketball at Clemson. Originally he was expected to play a year at prep school but Kidd will reclassify and be a part of the Tigers 2020 recruiting class.
He picked Clemson over a slew of other offers including Virginia Tech, Miami, Georgia Tech, Wake Forest, and Auburn.
At 6-foot-10 and 220 pounds, Kidd will be able to come in and play immediately. The only thing the Tigers were lacking this coming season is quality depth down low and this commitment gives them that.
“He does have ability, and is a solid piece to the puzzle for any high-major program. With his size and good frame, Kidd should be a solid rebounder and low post scorer for the Tigers, and also someone who gives them a bit of a presence around the rim as a shot blocker. This summer, Kidd has shown improved athleticism and an ability to run the floor.”

Kidd is ranked No. 81 overall in the Composite (2021 rankings) and at No. 77 in the 2021 ESPN rankings. He is listed as the 13th best center in the country at ESPN as well. His reclassification to 2020 does not affect his four star status.
For the first time since Brownell arrived at Clemson, he now has a solid stable of big men. Something that should pay off big in the coming years, including 2020.
