On Tuesday the Tigers rode a huge night from Tevin Mack and Clyde Trapp to a big win over Syracuse. They then turn around and lose by 12 to Wake Forest tonight while being held to their lowest point output of the season, scoring just 44 points.
Aamir Sims ended the night with 14 points and was the team’s leading scorer. The next closest scorer for the Tigers was John Newman III with 7 points. The two hot players from Tuesday, Trapp and Mack, had a combined 6 points between them. The Tigers were 4 for 21 from the 3 point line and 18 of 59 from the field. They also had 15 turnovers to go with the 30.5% shooting from the field.
This is what most Tiger fans find confusing and frustrating about this team. They can go from winning big games to not being able to hit layups in games against teams that most expect them to win. What does the future hold for this team and Brad Brownell? That is hard to answer, but the hope is that there will be more of the big wins and terrible losses.
The Tiger’s next opportunity to get a big win will come on the road against UVA Wednesday night on the ACC Network at 7pm.
