The Tigers now have another addition to their long list of things to prove next season.
As spring practices gets closer to an end they have a number of questions moving forward. One the bigger ones continues to be whether the new coordinators can have this team in a position to make it back to the playoff in their first season.
247 Sports’ latest bowl projections have the Tigers missing the playoff for a second consecutive season, predicting a Clemson-Wisconsin matchup in the Orange Bowl.
“Clemson is a popular playoff pick for 2022, but I’m not quite ready for that yet with two new coordinators and uncertainty at quarterback. Besides, the ACC is vastly improved, and the Atlantic Division is wide open with Wake Forest and N.C. State equally hungry to win it. Wisconsin underachieved last season, but Paul Chryst’s squad is veteran-heavy in 2022.” 247 Sports
As for the playoff, the projections have Alabama as the top seed facing off with No. 4 seed Notre Dame in the Peach Bowl and No. 2 Georgia and No. 3 Ohio State matching up in the Fiesta Bowl.
