CFB Analyst Has Unconventional Reason Behind Bold Prediction for Clemson-UofSC

SEC analyst Roman Harper thinks that Clemson, who opened as large favorites over UofSC, will lose the Palmetto Bowl on Saturday. Maybe even in blowout fashion.

Harper was asked what South Carolina needed to do to get a win over the Tigers and he made it very clear that he believes the Gamecocks will snap the Tigers six-game winning streak on Saturday night.

That’s not where his bold prediction ended, though. The former all-SEC player at Alabama, NFL Pro Bowl safety, and Super Bowl Champion didn’t just predict a win by South Carolina. He also thinks it comes in convincing fashion.

“I’m calling my shot,” Harper said. “South Carolina is gonna win this game and they might win by double digits. And I mean barely double digits, but it will happen.”

The reason Harper is so confident, though, is where things get strange.

“My neighbor, his son goes to South Carolina and you know what he told his dad,” Harper asked. ‘You know, dad, I can’t make Thanksgiving but for so long because I’ve got to get back to Columbia and get ready to celebrate and get ready to celebrate with my teammates and the rest of my teammates when we go in there and beat Clemson.’ They have this game marked on their schedule for many more weeks now.”

Clemson opened as a 12.5 point favorite over the rival Gamecocks. Kickoff is set for 7:30 pm from Williams Brice Stadium as Clemson looks to extend its six game winning streak over the in-state rival.
