The latest MLB Pipeline Draft Top 150 is good news for two TIger football/baseball commits, but might not good news for the Tigers, either on the diamond or the football field.
Three star quarterback Bubba Chandler (Bogart, GA) came in at number 22 on the list while fellow high school quarterback and projected slot receiver Will Taylor (Dutch Fork) was 26th.
The slot value for the 22nd pick in the 2020 draft was $3,027,000 and for the 26th pick it was $2,653,400. Those guaranteed amounts would make it very difficult to turn down, if in fact either player was selected in that general area of the draft.
The Tigers, of course, are looking for quarterback depth with the injury to Taisun Phommachanh during the spring game which left Clemson extremely thin at the game’s most important position.
In 2020 each MLB draft pick 66th or higher was valued at over $1,000,000.
