It’s hard to imagine Deshaun Watson becoming more popular than he already was, but that is exactly what has happened. And unfortunately, not for all the right reasons.
Watson currently has seven civil lawsuits filed against him accusing him of sexual assault, and more have been promised by Houston area attorney Tony Buzbee. He says 10 more accusers possibly could come forward.
On the surface, one might assume these developments have had a negative impact on NFL teams pursuit of the franchise quarterback on the trade market.
However, Aaron Wilson of the Houston Chronicle claims he has sources telling him several teams are still interested, including the Eagles, Panthers, Jets, Dolphins, 49ers and Broncos.
At the moment, it is hard to see any team giving up a ton of capital for the embattled former Clemson quarterback. Although, that could change in time if he can clear his name like he promised to do after the first allegation.
Watson’s lawyer said that a response to the allegations are coming this week.
