ESPN FPI High On Clemson In 2020

Many Clemson fans love to speculate about ESPN being biased when it comes to the Tigers. However, the preseason FPI rankings from ESPN love the Tigers, as they have Clemson as the big dog on the porch for 2020.

Let the conspiracy theories begin.

The FPI especially loves the Clemson defense next season, and has them as the best in the land. With a revamped defensive front, the Tigers defense is expected to be a dominant force again, the likes of which were seen during the run of the Power Rangers, led by Christian Wilkins and Company.

As for the offense, well they are only third best in the nation according to the FPI. There’s a reason Clemson is favored to win it all next season.

Alabama was the only other school to land in the top five in both defense and offense. Also worth noting, the ACC was the only conference with two teams ranked in the top five on the offensive side of the ball, while the SEC was the only league with two teams ranked amongst the top five defenses.
