The Arizona Cardinals were basically gifted the drafts most versatile player in the first round. For some reason, the Panthers passed on Isaiah Simmons at seven, even after losing their best linebacker to retirement and Clemson’s all-world linebacker just fell into Arizona’s lap at eight.

“We vowed to fix this defense,” Cardinals GM Steve Keim said afterwards, referring to the Cards NFL worst defensive unit last season. Getting Simmons was a great start.
