The Tigers came into Sunday’s finale with a chance to sweep Boston College. They did just that in dramatic walk off fashion, after having already secured the series win on Saturday.
It was a back and forth game in the early innings as the two teams traded the lead multiple times. Boston College went up 6-4 in the fifth and it stayed that way until Clemson started chipping away in the seventh and eighth innings scoring a run in each of those innings to tie the game up at 6 going into the ninth.
Spencer Strider started on the mound for the #21 Tigers and went 2.1 innings. He gave up four runs on five hits and had five strikeouts as he continues to come back from surgery and is still being limited to only 50 to 60 pitches in games.
Davis Sharpe began Clemson’s ninth inning with a walk. Sam Hall came in to run for him and promptly stole second with no outs. He then was bunted to third by Chad Fairey. James Parker then hit a ground ball that the shortstop tried to get the out at home with but was unsuccessful giving the Tigers a 7-6 win.
Clemson will now get ready to host Presbyterian College on Tuesday. That game is scheduled for a 6pm start and will be televised on ACC Network Extra.
