Brad Brownell just can’t catch a break

It has been an offseason full of one big blow after another for the Clemson Basketball program. This one involves junior PG Clyde Trapp, as he has suffered a torn ACL. He played in a career high 34 games last season and finished up the year as the starting PG after Shelton Mitchell’s knee injury.

The injury occurred in Friday’s practice as the team is preparing for the World University Games in Italy. Trapp averaged 6 points and 3.4 boards a game last season in a reserve role. He is the second player on the team to go down with an ACL in recent weeks, as Jonathan Baehre also suffered a torn ACL in a practice.

These type of injuries can take anywhere from 6-10 months to recover from, maybe even longer in some cases. This particular injury leaves Coach Brownell with a big problem. Who’s going to run the point?
