247Sports’ Grant Hughes recently named his top takeaways from every ACC team after spring practice and his take on Clemson was an interesting one.
Heading into next season, one of the biggest questions surrounding the Tigers pertains to the wide receiver group. Clemson has not only underperformed at the position the past two seasons, but they’ve also struggled to stay healthy.
However, Hughes thinks the hiring of Garrett Riley sparks a big change at the position. He is expecting big things, from Beaux Collins, Adam Randall and Antonio Williams now that Cade Klubnik is the fulltime starter, offering up this bold prediction.
“The Tigers will have an All-ACC receiver.“
“Clemson hasn’t produced an All-ACC receiver in the last two seasons and hasn’t had a wideout eclipse 1,100 receiving yards since Tee Higgins in 2019. Expect that to change in 2023 with the addition of offensive coordinator Garrett Riley, who coached TCU wide receiver Quentin Johnston into a first-round pick last season. Antonio Williams, Beaux Collins and Adam Randall should all take a big step forward under Riley, with Williams likely the biggest beneficiary of a more prolific passing offense featuring Cade Klubnik under center.“
