It’s not everyday that two quarterbacks on the same team are listed as Heisman contenders.
However, that’s exactly what is going on at Clemson, as both DJ Uiagalelei and Cade Klubnik are receiving betting odds in the Heisman race. Obviously, contender should not be confused with the word favorite.
Uiagalelei is no doubt the Tigers’ starter, but Klubnik, the former 5-star and No. 1 quarterback in the 2022 recruiting class, has provided plenty of competition.
“There’s no doubt there’s competition,” offensive coordinator Brandon Streeter said. “There is definitely competition, but DJ, he’s the guy right now. He’s our guy.”
