Tyler Grisham ‘More Than Ready’ for New Role With Tigers

Clemson has its new recruiting coordinator.

Head coach Dabo Swinney confirmed on signing day last week that wide receivers coach Tyler Grisham will take over the role that was vacated by Todd Bates departure for Oklahoma.

Swinney said he has already seen enough of Grisham on the recruiting trail to know that he is ready for his new role.

“It was an easy transition, he’s more than ready,” Swinney said. “I’ve been able to be in enough meetings with him and on the road and different settings. He was more than ready to be that on-the-field liaison guy that you’ve got to have.”

The new title also comes with a $150K pay bump for Grisham, who has been with the Tigers since starting as a graduate assistant in 2014.

Swinney said that while the recruiting department mostly runs itself, the Tigers still needed someone to oversee everything and tie it all together.

“We’ve got a whole department, but somebody’s got to tie it together from the coach standpoint to make sure we’ve got all the I’s dotted and T’s crossed. He’s great.”
