2022 Four-Star RB Target Announces Decision Date, Update on Trevor Etienne

Clemson has just two offers out to uncommitted running backs in the 2022 class.

One of those is Branson Robinson, a 4-star back out of Mississippi. At 5-foot-10, 220 pounds, he is ranked as the third-best running back in the country in the 247 Composite and a Top-50 talent overall.

On Tuesday, Robinson announced he will be committing on July 22.

Robinson was scheduled to attend the Elite Retreat a couple of weeks back, but did not attend. All signs point to Georgia being the pick here, meaning Trevor Etienne will be the only uncommitted back with an offer.

However, it doesn’t appear that Etienne is anywhere close to a decision. He was in attendance at the Elite Retreat and will likely be back in Clemson in July, presumably for the All In Cookout.

Etienne was in Baton Rouge on Monday, but as it stands today, LSU has at least one, maybe even more, running backs higher on their board.

Regardless, it appears that this recruitment still has a long way to go and Etienne wants to keep all of his options open. With Robinson presumably off the board, it will be interesting to see how Clemson plays this.

Do the Tigers go all in on Travis’ younger brother and play the waiting game, or do they start looking at other options? If so, one name to keep an eye on could be 4-star running back George Pettway.

Pettway is a Top-100 talent and appears nowhere close to a decision, meaning the Tigers would have plenty of time. Currently, North Carolina is the favorite to land the running back out of Virginia.
