Trevor Lawrence is in one of those exclusive clubs that very few get to join.
With Urban Meyer now coaching in the NFL, Lawrence will get to play for two of the all-time great college football coaches and not many players can lay stake to that claim.
Many would look at Meyer as a more rigid coach than Swinney. Lawrence recently made an appearance on The Dan Patrick Show and one of the things he was asked about was which of the two head coaches had the better sense of humor.
“I think coach Swinney is funnier to laugh at, for sure than coach Meyer,” Lawrence said. “Coach Swinney is just goofy. Coach Meyer has a little bit more dry sense of humor, but he’s awesome.”
Clemson’s first ever No. 1 overall draft pick has made no secret about his feelings for Swinney over the years. While he has only been a member of the Jaguars for a short time now, it’s safe to say he really likes Meyer too.
Lawrence went on to say that while there are a lot of similarities, the two head coaches take different approaches in how they choose to lead their teams.
“Both are different but similar in the way they lead,” Lawrence said. “It’s been interesting getting to see the different personalities, but I really have a ton of respect and enjoy being around both of them.”
