Pro Football Focus has ranked the five best players in the ACC and two Clemson Tigers made the cut.
Top 5 ACC Players
- Sam Howell (UNC QB)
- Justyn Ross (Clem WR)
- D’Eriq King (Miami QB)
- D.J. Uiagalelei (Clem QB)
- Storm Duck (UNC CB)
Ross missed the entire 2020 season after having surgery to repair a congenital condition. He has yet to be cleared to return to game-action but that is expected to happen in June.
Despite the year away, big things are expected out of Ross in 2021 and the fact that he is still considered a Top-5 player in the conference speaks volumes on just how talented the wideout from Alabama is.
UIagalelei is getting set to take over as the starting quarterback at Clemson and has some big shoes to fill seeing as he is replacing a generational talent in Trevor Lawrence.
The rising sophomore certainly looked the part last season when he made two starts in place of Lawrence, who was sidelined due to safety protocols. In his first career start he led the Tigers back from an 18-point deficit in a victory at home over Boston College. In his second, he lit up Notre Dame in South Bend, throwing for more yards than anyone in history has against the storied program, in a double overtime loss.
