Amari Rodgers had one of the best seasons of any Clemson Tiger in 2021.
The fourth-year wideout led the Tigers with 77 catches and 1020 yards. His seven touchdown receptions also tied for most on the team with Cornell Powell.
It was the kind of season Rodgers needed to send his draft stock skyrocketing upward. Some experts now think Rodgers could hear his name called as early as the second round.
Recently at the 2021 House of Athlete Scouting Combine Showcase the former Clemson standout was asked what his dream NFL Draft scenario was.
“I’ll say second round to the Packers,” Rodgers said.
Not only would Rodgers love to end up playing for one of the NFL’s most storied franchises, he also has a specific role he sees himself playing.
“I definitely see myself as a Randall Cobb-type of player being used in the slot, jet sweeps, and the return game as well,” he said.
Rodgers made note of the fact that the Packers have not had a player like Cobb since his departure and thinks he could add a dynamic that could be beneficial to the Packers offense. Not to mention playing with and learning from players like quarterback Aaron Rodgers and fellow receiver Davante Adams.
“Ever since Randall left, they haven’t had a guy like that,” Rodgers said. “Just being able to bring my game to that offense, it would be special just to see me work with a well-known player like Davante Adams and Aaron Rodgers. I would love to learn from those guys.”
