Report: Deshaun Watson Tells Texans He Won’t Play For Them Again

Former Clemson quarterback Deshaun Watson is reportedly dug in when it comes to his stance on being traded.

According to a report from ESPN, Watson met with the team last Friday and doubled down on his trade demand.

Watson has a no trade clause in his contract, meaning any deal would have to be net with his approval. The Texans can’t just ship him off wherever.

While it may seem like on the surface that the Texans have all the leverage in this situation, they do not. If Watson wants out bad enough, he’ll get out.

The star quarterbacks unhappiness stems from the organization promising he would have input on the new GM and head coaching hires, but the Texans made those hires without even as much as a phone call to Watson.

  1. So don’t play Deshaun. Stick to your guns. The Texans are on the rocks and they know it. You gave your best…and they haven’t.
