Two Former Clemson Tigers Named PFF All-Era NFL Prospects

Joe Burrow and LSU got the best of Trevor Lawrence and Clemson a year ago in the National Championship game.

However, Clemson fans can take solace in the fact that Trevor Lawrence was picked over Joe Burrow when it comes to who the best NFL prospect was.

Pro Football Focus recently released their All-Era NFL Prospect rankings and according to them, any questions raised by some about whether Burrow or Lawrence was the better of the two NFL prospects have been answered.

Lawrence was ranked No. 1 and Burrow was chosen honorable mention over Baker Mayfield and Zach Wilson.

This is PFF’s list of the best players at their position and comes from seven years of grading college football prospects.

It surely doesn’t hurt that Lawrence had 90.0-plus overall grades all three years that he played at Clemson. That’s not taking anything away from Burrow and the season he had a year ago, but he only did it once.

At the linebacker position on their list, another former Clemson Tiger got some love. Isaiah Simmons and Roquan Smith out of Georgia garnished honorable mention honors behind Reuben Foster of Alabama and Micah Parsons of Penn State.
