Clemson LB Mike Jones Jr Has Entered Transfer Portal

Mike Jones Jr has entered the transfer portal.

Jones was Clemson’s starter at the vital SAM spot last season and registered 30 tackles, 4 TFL, 2 INT’s, and 2 forced fumbles. He will be a graduate transfer and will be eligible to play immediately.

With his departure, expect rising sophomore Simpson to assume the starting role next season. Simpson had 6 1/2 TFLs and four sacks in 2020 and was really starting to come on at the end of the season.

Jones’ departure could open up more early playing time for incoming freshman Barrett Carter, who Dabo Swinney recently said might be the most versatile player he has ever signed.
