Clemson At Virginia Tech: The Numbers

Clemson comes into this game after celebrating Military Appreciation and Senior Day with a dominating 52-17 win over Pitt at Death Valley. Many had questioned whether Trevor Lawrence, who had been off for five weeks, and the Tigers, who were off for three weeks, would be rusty.

They put those questions to rest when they tied a school record by scoring 31 first quarter points. The defense also came out on fire and stymied Pitt QB Kenny Pickett and the Panther offense.

Meanwhile, Virginia Tech is coming off of a bye week, and have had an extra week to prepare for the Tigers. The Hokies are in the middle of a three-game losing streak that includes a heartbreaking loss by three points to Liberty and a one point loss to Miami. It also includes a 47-14 loss at Pitt on Nov. 21.

Virginia Tech has been a mysterious team this season. They go out and lose a last second game to then undefeated Liberty 38-35. They have lost 23-16 to a Wake Forest team that they were expected to win against.

This is another team that is going to give Clemson everything they have. The Tigers will have to come into this game ready to play. Especially since this is a chance for the Hokies to climb back to .500 overall and above .500 in the ACC.
