Clemson Opens As Massive Favorite Over Pitt

Pitt comes to Death Valley next weekend for Military Appreciation Day and they will do so as massive underdogs. Fourth-ranked Clemson has opened as a 26-point favorite over the Panthers.

After what happened in Tallahassee on Saturday, the Tigers are just ready to get back on the field. By the time next weekend rolls around it will have been three weeks since Clemson has seen the field and five weeks since quarterback Trevor Lawrence has taken a snap.

The last time these two teams met was in the 2018 ACC Championship Game in which Clemson won in dominating fashion 42-10. However, the last time the two teams squared off in Death Valley back in 2016, Pitt pulled off one of the biggest upsets of the season when a last second field goal propelled the Panthers to a 43-42 win.

The Tigers did rebound from the loss in a big way though, going on to win the 2016 national title, the program’s first since 1981.
