Dabo Swinney And Assistant Coaches Voluntarily Taking Ten Percent Pay Cut

Clemson University announced on Monday that all athletic employees making more than $400K in salary per year have volunteered to take a ten percent reduction in pay.

“President Clements and all athletics employees making more than $400,000 annually have voluntarily taken at least a 10 percent reduction in compensation.”

Outside of head coach Dabo Swinney, other coaches that fall into this category include Tony Elliott, Brent Venables, Mike Reed, Mickey Conn, Todd Bates, Lemanski Hall, Robbie Caldwell, Danny Pearman, Brandon Streeter, and Joey Batson.

Football Coaches Affected:

  • Swinney: $9.3M 
  • Venables: $2.2M
  • Elliott: $1.6M
  • Caldwell: $640K
  • Batson: $600K
  • Streeter: $590K
  • Pearman: $545K
  • Reed: $540K
  • Bates: $515K

The school has also implemented a furlough program that will run from the first of September through the end of the year.
