The College Football Playoff is on, and now all the important dates have been officially announced.
The committee is scheduled to release their first set of rankings on November 17 and just like in previous seasons will release a new set of rankings in each of the following weeks.
This will culminate with the final set of rankings being released on December 20 to determine the four teams that will vie for a national title. The semifinal round of games will be played on New Years Day with the CFP National Championship being played on January 11 in Miami.
This leads to the question of what exactly the B1G and Pac-12 will be playing for in their winter season or spring season, whatever it is they are saying they have planned today. With nothing more than a conference championship on the line, they can always say they are playing for pride.
