Lawrence Falls From Top Spot In Latest Mock Draft

The 2021 NFL Draft isn’t until next April and still everyone seems to feel that Tigers quarterback Trevor Lawrence has already been anointed the No. 1 overall pick.

There has been a lot of widespread talk about Lawrence and that spot. Even some about whether NFL teams may tank this coming season. All for a shot at getting the young quarterback Clemson hopes can help lead them to a shot at another national title and possibly the school’s first ever Heisman winner.

Maybe Lawrence isn’t the lock most have suggested him to be after all and Draft Wire‘s latest 2021 mock draft bares that out. It’s a two round projection that uses the latest Super Bowl odds to determine the draft order.

One thing that could change the order would be if the team that has the first selection in the draft already has a promising young quarterback. Then we could see a player at another position go in the No. 1 overall spot. This would make just the second time that has happened over the last seven years.

In their mock draft they have offensive tackle Penei Sewell out of Oregon going number one to Washington, while Lawrence slips to the number two and going to Jacksonville,

It is important to remember that these mock drafts are just that…mock drafts and nothing is set in stone. But it is interesting to see how anything change at the drop of a hat.
