Clemson Flashback: XT Crushes Eric Dungey

A year after pulling off a massive upset of Clemson in the Carrier Dome, Syracuse came into Death Valley in early 2018 looking pull of the feat again. For awhile it looked like they might.

The Tiger struggled much of this one. Making his first start, Trevor Lawrence was knocked out of the game. Chase Brice came on in relief and let’s just say he wasn’t setting the world on fire.

However, the Tiger defense bailed the stagnant offense out time and again, and then in the fourth quarter Travis Etienne took over, and led the team on a long touchdown drive, giving the Tigers the come from behind win. Add in some bigtime plays from Brice down the stretch, and Clemson just wasn’t going to be denied.

However, it was Xavier Thomas that put the final nail in the coffin, and every Clemson fan knows exactly what play that happened on. Enjoy.
