Tigers Look To Finish Strong At Home

The Tigers will look to finish the season strong, get back to the .500 mark in ACC play, and get their 10th win in conference when Georgia Tech makes the short trip from Atlanta to LittleJohn Friday night. This will be not only Clemson’s regular season finale, it’s also Senior Night. The game is scheduled to start at 7pm and will be televised on ESPN 2.

Clemson needs a win after going 5-5 over their last 10 games and have been very inconsistent (not surprising for such a young team). The Tigers are averaging 66.6 points on 43% shooting and allowing 64.1 points on 41.2% shooting. Aamir Simms continues to average 13 points and 2.6 assists a game. Tevin Mack is averaging 12.1 points and 5.4 rebounds per game.
Clemson, as a team, is shooting 31.8% from beyond the arc and 67.2% from the free throw line.
On the defensive side, the Tigers are allowing 32.5% shooting from three and are grabbing 31.3 rebounds per game. The one thing that Clemson has going for them is they have won four of their last five home games including upset wins over Duke, Louisville, and FSU.
Georgia Tech comes into LittleJohn looking for a win after winning five of their last six games. The Yellow Jackets are averaging 68.7 points on 45.3% shooting and allowing 66.6 points on 40.1% shooting. Michael Devoe is averaging 15.9 points and 3.9 rebounds per game while Jose Alvarado is averaging 14.4 points and 3.5 rebounds. Georgia Tech is shooting 30.9% from beyond the arc and 67% from the free throw line.
The Yellow Jackets, on defense, are allowing 28.7% shooting from three and are grabbing 33.1 rebounds per game. Georgia Tech has also lost four of their last five road games.
The Tigers are tough at home where they win by an average of 8.4 points a game and have a defense that doesn’t bend much. However, the Yellow Jackets just beat up on Clemson a week ago and this will be on Clemson’s minds. The key to this game will be whether the Tigers can hit their shots and keep from going into several minute scoreless streaks.
