The Streak Is Dead!

Finally, on their 60th attempt, the Clemson Tigers men’s basketball team won a game in Chapel Hill. It took overtime to get it done, but they got it done 79-76. Clemson never led in this game until the overtime period. They got a 12-2 run to end regulation to tie it up, then let that momentum carry them to the win.

Aamir Simms put this team on his back today, particularly down the stretch as he hit two big three’s, the last one knotting it up. He finished with 20 points, grabbed 6 boards, and had 4 assists. Tevin Mack and John Newman both had strong games as well, going for 17 points each.

The Tigers shot 43% from beyond the arc after starting the game just 2 for their first 12 from long distance. Clemson got 13 points from the bench while UNC got just 2.

Congrats to Brad Brownell and his team. This is a huge win for his program, as Clemson breaks one of the most dubious streaks in all of sports!
