After being named a first team All American by the Football Writers Association, Isaiah Simmons becomes Clemson’s sixth unanimous All American in school history. He was named to all five All American teams. He joins Christian Wilkins (2018), Da’Quan Bowers (2010), CJ Spiller (2009), Gaines Adams (2006), and Terry Kinard (1982) as the only Tigers to receive the honor.
John Simpson landed on the second team, and that makes him a consensus All American. In order to be a consensus All American, you must be named to more than half of the All American teams, and Simpson made four of the five lists.
Congratulations to those guys, they earned it.
