Earlier today Virginia punched its ticket to Charlotte by wrapping up the Coastal with its 39-30 win over Virginia Tech. It was their first win over the Hokies since 2003, ending a 15 game losing streak. Their prize for snapping that streak and winning the Coastal? A date with the unbeaten and defending national champs, Clemson.
FanDuel Sportsbook has already released a betting line for the game and, as expected, the Wahoos are huge underdogs. The third ranked Tigers are an early 27 point favorite over Virginia.
The two teams haven’t played one another since a 59-10 Clemson win in 2013. The Tigers have won 4 of the past 5 meetings, 6 of the last 10, and are looking for their 5th straight ACC Title. In the last two ACC Championship games, Clemson has outscored their opponents (Miami and Pitt) by a combined 67 points.
