Tigers Cruise By Alabama A&M

This one was never in doubt. At one point the Tigers led Alabama A&M 44-16 (sound familiar) in the first half as they raced out to a 54-19 lead at halftime. When it was all said and done the Tigers had won 87-51 on another night where they shot the ball well, improving to 4-1 on the young season.

Freshman PG Al-Amir Dawes led the way with 19 points, going 7-11 from the floor and 3-6 from three. Tevin Mack added 16 points on 6-9 shooting and Hunter Tyson and Tre Jemmison both pitched in with 10 points apiece.

The Tigers outscored A&M 40-16 in the paint and forced 18 turnovers. They held them to just 34% shooting from the field, while the Tigers shot 53% from the floor and 41% from beyond the arc.

There’s not a ton to be gleaned from this one. A&M just isn’t very good this season. They have a roster full of freshman. The win does move Brad Brownell that much closer to the school record for all time wins. He now needs just 3 more to pass Cliff Ellis.

Clemson will now hit the road to Las Vegas where they will play in the MGM Resorts Main Event tournament. They will face TCU on Sunday at 10:30 pm EST.
