Vegas released some early lines for the nation’s rivalry games that will be played in two weeks. The Tigers are looking for their sixth straight win in the series, something that’s been done only once by either team. Clemson won seven straight back in the forties.
This year’s game takes place in Columbia but that didn’t have much of an impact on the oddsmakers. They have Clemson as an early 21.5 point road favorite.
Unbeaten and third ranked Clemson is coming off of a 52-3 dismantling of Wake Forest while the 4-7 Gamecocks are in the midst of what we can call a tough stretch. After knocking off Georgia in Athens, they’ve been plagued by injuries, something that’s become a common theme under head coach Will Muschamp. Since then they’ve only beaten Vanderbilt, while losing to lowly Tennessee and G5 team App State.
It could get ugly in Willy B in two weeks. Again. Expect this Clemson team to remember the success the UofSC offense had in the Valley last year.
