Never Trust A Junkie….. Week 7 Picks

It’s that time once again. Time to make our weekly prognostications, telling you who will win, who will lose, and who will or won’t cover the spread. And as we tell you each week, if your tempted to use anything written here as a reason to call your local bookie, go back and carefully read the title again.

*We have already covered the Clemson/FSU game and how we think it plays out, so we won’t rehash that here. You can check that out here.

#1 Alabama at #24 Texas A&M 3:30 CBS

The Aggies have already suffered losses to #2 Clemson and #12 Auburn, and now get to play #1 Alabama and one of the nations best offenses. Jimbo Fisher’s second season is playing out a lot like his first. This one is in College Station, but they are still 17 point underdogs. That Bama D isn’t at the level it usually is but the offense has made up for it. Home field advantage will not matter….. Bama covers

#6 Oklahoma vs #11 Texas Noon Fox

The Sooners are a 10.5 point favorite and the FPI gives them an 80% chance to win. This is the first test for the Sooners and Heisman hopeful Jalen Hurts, and the Longhorns are getting no love. These games typically are competitive when both teams are good and today’s matchup should be as well….. Sooners win close

South Carolina at #3 Georgia Noon ESPN

The Dawgs are 21.5 point favorites at home. The Gamecocks had an extra week to prepare, but unless they found the cure for what ails that terrible run defense, it is going to be a long day….. Georgia covers

#7 Florida at #5 LSU 8pm ESPN

The Gators knocked off unbeaten Auburn last weekend in The Swamp despite a very sloppy performance on offense. LSU’s high powered offense gets a real test today as that Gator defense is legit. That Florida offense with Kyle Trask needs to be efficient against an LSU defense that has given up a lot of points at times. LSU is favored by 14….. LSU wins, doesn’t cover

Louisville at #19 Wake Forest 7:30 ACCN

Wake is a 7 point favorite at home and comes in unbeaten. They have only played one P5 team with a pulse in UNC, and had to hang on for dear life to get that one. The Cards are already sitting on more wins than many thought they would have all season and are playing much better under first year coach Scott Satterfield. This one has upset written all over it, and since Louisville winning would be the most ACC thing ever….. Cards win
