One of the top wide receiver targets on the Tigers board for 2020 is set announce his commitment on Saturday afternoon. Four star prospect EJ Williams will hold a ceremony at 2pm at his high school, Phenix City Central.
The announcement comes on the anniversary of his father’s death, who served in the US Army. His mother also just celebrated her birthday earlier this week.
Williams is listed as the 91st best prospect overall in the 247 Composite Rankings. They have him as the 20th best receiver nationally and 4th best player from the state of Alabama. Expect those numbers to climb during his senior season.
Williams top four schools are Bama, Auburn, LSU, and Clemson. He’s spent more time on the Tigers campus than any other school and Clemson is getting 100% of the crystal ball predictions.
It’s been widely assumed that the Tigers were looking to take just two wideouts in the 2020 class. With Ajou Ajou committing the weekend of the cookout, Williams would be the second commit for #WRU. The question then becomes is the team done at the position or is there any chance they take a third.
