Nothing earth shattering here, but that’s a good thing. There are a few things worth noting that stand out though….

The receivers. Higgins, Ngata, Ross, Overton, Powell… can’t wait to see corners trying to out physical those guys on the line of scrimmage.

The DT’s are all right around 300 lbs. Even some of the freshman. The interior won’t be as big as recent seasons but that doesn’t necessarily mean there’s any reason for concern. Keep an eye on Tayquon Johnson.

All the LBs are below 235 Some, like Chad Smith, dropping weight to get there. Philosophical change coming? Backers in recent years played heavier.

At RB, Chez Mellusi is up over the 200 mark and that’s good to see. Michael Dukes is at 193 which is a good starting point for him as well. Neither enrolled early so they are just getting started.

Trevor at 220….. enough said.

Would have liked to see Logan Rudolph a little heavier, as well as KJ Henry.

Lastly, there’s Jaelyn Lay. After coming to school at around 250 back in January, the freshman TE was at 273 today. Seems a little heavy for a pass catching tight end, even one that’s 6’6.
