Eight ACC teams are ranked in at least one major poll this week, led by Wake Forest as high as No. 2 in two national rankings (NCBWA and Collegiate Baseball) and No. 4 in two others. Louisville joins the Demon Deacons as a consensus top-10 ranked team following wins over No. 10 TCU and No. 12 Texas A&M and remains as high as No. 4 (Baseball America and Collegiate Baseball). 

• The ACC leads all conferences with three remaining unbeaten teams in the still-early going with Wake Forest at 13-0, NC State at 12-0, and Virginia at 11-0. Alabama and Troy were the only other Division I teams that remained unbeaten entering this week.

• Another ACC coach hit a milestone last weekend as Virginia’s Brian O’Connor reached 800 wins with the Cavaliers’ sweep of Rhode Island. Louisville’s Dan McDonnell is now two wins shy of 700 following Louisville’s big showing in the Shriners Children’s Classic at Houston’s Minute Maid Park. NC State’s Elliott Avent needs two wins to reach 1,200 after his unbeaten Wolfpack posted yet another series sweep. Georgia Tech’s Danny Hall picked up two more midweek and continues to lead all active coaches with 1,358 career victories.

• ACC teams stand a collective 123-34 again non-conference opponents heading into the 17-game March 7-8 midweek slate, including an 89-14 mark at home. The first set of three-game conference series is scheduled this weekend, with Duke, Florida State, Georgia Tech, Miami, North Carolina and Virginia Tech playing at home.
