Former Clemson WR Ranked Among Top Prospects From NFLPA Collegiate Bowl Practice

Some of the best NFL Draft prospects are at the Rose Bowl this week getting set to take part in the NFLPA Collegiate Bowl.

One of those players is former Clemson WR Joseph Ngata. The former 5-star recruit decided against using his one final year of college eligibility, electing to enter the draft.

After the practices leading into the game, which is set for 6 p.m. on Saturday, NFL.com named Ngata one of the top prospects participating this week.

“Ngata was a five-star recruit out of high school. There were high expectations for him at Clemson, but he struggled to reach them during an injury-plagued career. He had his healthiest year in his final season with the Tigers, posting a career-high 526 yards in 14 starts, including a career-best eight catches in his final collegiate game. Ngata had a diving catch over the middle during Tuesday’s practice and showed off his athleticism on some downfield passes Wednesday. At 6-3, 220 pounds, Ngata looks the part of an NFL wide receiver.”

Also making the list were quarterback Sam Clifford (Penn State), quarterback Malik Cunningham (Louisville), running back Emari Demercado (TCU), safety Jason Taylor II (Oklahoma State) and cornerback Steven Jones Jr. (Appalachian State).

Ngata was the Tigers’ second leading receiver in 2022, hauling in 41 catches for 526 yards, with two touchdowns.
