When it comes to injuries, so far so good for the Tigers.
After a season in which the team struggled to keep players healthy, especially on the offensive side of the ball, Clemson has so far been able to avoid any major injuries for the most part.
Outside of DT Tyler Davis, who could be held out another week, the Tigers are in pretty good shape. WR Adam Randall is expected to make his debut after tearing an ACL in the spring and it’s even possible that DE Xavier Thomas is back from his foot injury this week.
“XT is really close,” Swinney said on Wednesday. “Taking it day-by-day. He’s right there. Probably be a game-time decision on him. Probably same thing with Tyler. If Tyler is not quite 100 percent I’m going to hold him, but he’s doing good and he’s close.”Â
It’s also possible that DT Bryan Bresee is unavailable this weekend, but not for health reasons. Bresee flew back home this week to be with family as his sister battles cancer.
“He has way more important things to deal with than football,” Swinney said.
