Latest Timetable for Return of Clemson WR Adam Randall

Freshman wideout Adam Randall has been out all of fall camp recovering from a torn ACL suffered in the spring.

Just five months removed from the injury, it’s looking like Randall will be back on the field at some point in the first half of the season, as offensive coordinator Brandon Streeter provided the latest on Monday.

“It’s just kind of week by week,” Streeter said. “We’ll get him sometime here soon I think and sometime in the next month or two for sure. It’s not going to be at the end of the season.”

Randall has already been seen on multiple occasions by members of the media running routes after practice. Despite still sporting a yellow jersey, Randall is doing what he can to get into game shape.

“Adam was running some routes (Monday),” Streeter said. “I don’t know if y’all saw it, but it was pretty fun to watch. He was doing some stuff. Not getting touched yet, but he was still running a lot of good routes and getting back into the swing of things and trying to get in that football shape you need to be in as far as a receiver. He did some good things, so it was really, really neat to see him out there at such an early time with his recovery.”

Getting Randall back will be big. The freshman wideout brings big play capability to an offense that was sorely lacking in that department in 2021.

“As we saw in the spring, he brings a lot of big-play potential,” Streeter said. “He made plays in both the run game and the pass game, and he made the one-on-one plays a lot against some of our best guys on defense. It was very exciting and gave the offense confidence whenever he was out there, so that big-play mentality is the biggest thing.”
