Clemson DE Xavier Thomas to Miss 4-6 Weeks Due to Injury

Most have heard by now that Clemson DE Xavier Thomas left Saturday’s scrimmage early with an injury.

While we still do not know any specifics regarding what type of injury, outside of it being related to his foot/ankle, we do now know how long he might be out, as multiple reports have come out saying Thomas is expected to have surgery and miss four to six weeks.

Defensive coordinator Wes Goodwin is scheduled to meet with the media after Monday morning’s practice and is expected to provide a more detailed update at that time.

UPDATE: Goodwin didn’t add much to the original report when meeting with the media. He just did Thomas would miss 4-6 weeks with a foot injury and that the surgery would take place on Monday.

“He has had a great camp and in a great spot conditioning-wise,” Goodwin said. “Unfortunate setback but he has the right mindset and will respond and get him back early in the year.
