As it turns out, it isn’t going to the the Saints or the Falcons after all.
Deshaun Watson has reportedly agreed to waive his no-trade clause and will, in fact, be dealt to Cleveland.
Multiple outlets are now reporting that this is a done deal. One day after notifying the Browns they were officially out of the running, the embattled quarterback changed his mind.
Watson, a former Clemson standout, gets a fully guaranteed 5 year, $230M contract. That is $80M more than the previous record for fully guaranteed money at signing ($150M).
In return for Watson, Cleveland will receive three first round picks, a third rounder and possibly a fifth, although the exact details are still being ironed out.
