Clemson Softball Moves Up In Latest Top 25 Rankings

After taking part in the St Pete/Clearwater Elite Invitational Tournament over the weekend, the Clemson Softball team has moved up two spots to No. 12 in the Softball America Top-25.

The Tigers started the weekend by shutting out Texas Tech 8-0 on Thursday. On Friday, they knocked off a ranked Tennessee team 4-3 in extra innings.

Saturday was a tougher day that saw Clemson lose twice. A top-10 Northwestern squad shut out the Tigers 7-0 and Wisconsin defeated Clemson 2-1 in extra innings.

The Tigers would rebound in a big way on Sunday, finishing up the weekend with a 2-1 win over a Top-5 Washington team, which is the best win in the history of the young program.

After playing a Wednesday road game at Charlotte, the Tigers open their home slate this weekend by hosting the Clemson Invitational. Friday they host Boston University and on Saturday they play a doubleheader against St Francis and Akron.

The championship game is scheduled for Sunday.
