Mike Reed is widely regarded as one of the best cornerbacks coaches in the country.
Since arriving at Clemson in 2014, the Tigers have had nine defensive backs taken in the NFL Draft and Reed is one of the best recruiters on the coaching staff.
It has been reported that both Oklahoma and Alabama have made runs at Reed since the end of the season. Now there is talk that Georgia has shown interest in the Tigers’ cornerbacks coach, as well. DB’s coach Jahmile Addae is leaving the Dawgs to go join Mario Cristobal in Miami.
Reed is now scheduled to make $750K a year after recent pay raises and was just given the added title of assistant head coach, along with being named special teams coordinator.
With these moves, it’s obvious Dabo Swinney doesn’t want to lose Reed and honestly, it would be surprising to see him leave at this juncture, especially just to make a lateral move. No matter what school is doing the offering.
