D1Softball has released their 2022 preseason rankings, with the Lady Tigers coming in a No. 15.
Clemson is coming off a 44-8 season, that saw the Lady Tigers go 29-5 in league play on their way to winning the program’s first ever ACC regular season championship.
The Tigers return eight starters from that team, including Valerie Cagle, who is not only one of the most feared pitchers in the country, but also one of the most feared hitters. McKenzie Clark, Marissa Guimbarda, Alia Logoleo and Millie Thompson also return. All five players won All-ACC honors in 2021.
Clemson will kick off the season in the Florida Gulf Coast University Kickoff Classic against FGCU on February 10. The Tigers will then play a doubleheader on February 11, with the first game coming against Kent State and the second coming against Texas.
The teams first home game is scheduled for February 25 against Boston University as the Tigers will host the Clemson Classic.
