Travis Etienne Sheds Insight Into Younger Brother’s Commitment to Florida

Some Clemson fans could not believe that Trevor Etienne would not be following in his brother’s footsteps at Clemson.

Etienne announced a commitment to Florida last Saturday, choosing the Gators over Clemson and LSU.

Now, older brother Travis is shedding some light into at least part of what went into the decision, and what having his younger brother so close by means to him.

“It means a lot,” Travis said. “Growing up in the same household, just being there for each other, and to have my little brother there so close that I can just be able to reach out to him, be able to touch him, just do all those things you want to do as a brother.”

While many have speculated that proximity played a big part in the decision, the elder Etienne makes it sound as if that were the case.

“I know, at Clemson, I was 12 hours away from home,” Travis said. “It was kind of hard to just be there and just be there physically. Now with him being just 71 miles away, it’s definitely going to change the dynamics of the family. Hopefully all the family gets down here. I’m just really excited to see what the year has in store for us as a family.”

After missing on Etienne, Clemson has now set its sights on 2022 RB Andrew Paul, as the running back from Dallas was offered just over a week ago and is set to visit this weekend.
