Dabo Swinney had already let it be known that offensive lineman Jordan McFadden was planning to return in 2022. Now, McFadden has made it official, confirming he plans to return to Clemson for a fifth season.
After serving as the teams RT in 2020, McFadden made the move over to LT in 2021, protecting quarterback DJ Uiagalelei’s blind side. McFadden started all 13 games for the Tigers, one of two offensive linemen to start every game, and earned second team All-ACC honors.
McFadden, from just up the road in Spartanburg, was a part of Clemson’s 2018 recruiting class. After taking a redshirt in 2018, the offensive lineman played over 300 snaps in 2019 as one of the Tigers key reserves.
The 6-foot-2, 300-pound tackle would move into the starting lineup in 2020, and has now started 25 consecutive games, logging 767 snaps last season and just shy of 900 in 2021.
