The Clemson football program got a late Christmas gift on Monday. One of their experienced defensive ends will be returning for one last ride.
Not many expected KJ Henry to come back for another year but the former 5-star player has announced that he will return for a fifth season. This is a huge boost for the Tigers, with Xavier Thomas having made it pretty clear that he will not return next season.
Henry will be looked to for his experience next season, at a position that doesn’t have a ton of depth. He has already graduated with his bachelor’s and master’s degrees and did so in four years.
The Winston-Salem, N.C., native, ended the 2021 season third on the team with 4.5 sacks, including one he had in the Cheez-It Bowl. Henry’s 6.5 tackles for loss ranked him fourth on the team and he finished the year with 20 total tackles.
