The news for Clemson had not been all that good on the recruiting trail this week. After Brent Venables left for Oklahoma, the Tigers lost two commitments on the defensive side of the ball, with Jihaad Campbell and Keon Sabb opening their recruitments back up.
On Thursday night, the news was good as 4-star in-state wide receiver Antonio Williams announced a commitment to Clemson.
Landing Williams gives Clemson a huge recruiting win over the in-state rival Gamecocks, as Shane Beamer had made the Dutch Fork wideout one of South Carolina’s top priorities in the 2022 class.
The commitment now gives the Tigers 13 total in the class and moves Clemson back into the top-ten of the recruiting rankings.
