One day after top tight end target Oscar Delp committed to Georgia, the Tigers are moving on to the next guy on the board.
In-state legacy recruit Josh Sapp announced an offer on Thursday.
Sapp, the son of former Clemson star Patrick Sapp, has long been on the radar of the coaching staff. He worked out for the coaches back in the summer at one of Dabo Swinney’s high school camps, and has been on campus multiple times since then. Tight ends coach Tony Elliott was just in Greeneville watching Sapp play as well.
The 3-star prospect also has offers from App State, Georgia State, Coastal Carolina, East Carolina, as well as a handful of other non Power-5 schools.
Admittedly, it’s not an offer list that blows you away, but the Tigers are fairly deep at tight end and can afford to take a guy that needs a year or two of development. Not to mention, there is a lot to like about Sapp’s film and he is having a very solid senior season.
