Tony Elliott is no stranger to seeing his name linked to other jobs around the country.
The Clemson offensive coordinator has seen his name mentioned with regards to numerous college head coaching jobs and has even seen it linked to open offensive coordinator jobs in the NFL.
With Southern Cal firing Clay Helton earlier this week, it should come as no surprise that Elliott’s name is already being mentioned by Yahoo’s Pete Thamel as a candidate to fill the position.
Larry Brown Sports takes it one step further, saying there is “mutual interest” between USC and Elliott.
According to Bruce Feldman of The Athletic, a number of influential USC power brokers have been “intrigued” by Clemson offensive coordinator Tony Elliott. Elliott, a California native, is said to find the prospect of returning to his home state “very intriguing” as well.
Elliott is a California native and if the school really does have interest, it’s a job he very much could have real interest in. Despite the Trojans being just another run of the mill program at the moment, it’s still considered one of the premier jobs in the country.
